Rancid - "Let the Dominoes Fall" Webisode Series

Nearly six years have passed since the release of "Indestructible". But six years can be worth it when a band puts out a quality album like "Let the Dominoes Fall". I think it's fair to say that many Rancid fans have been anxiously awaiting the release of the new album for some time.

Rancid created a great build-up to the release by issuing several short webisodes that tracks the band and the making of the new album. If you haven't had a chance to view them, then take a few minutes to enjoy these short videos. The first one even features the legendary Joe Strummer. That in and of itself is well worth your time!

Riot Fest 2009 Schedule Announced

It seems the economy has had no effect on the ambitious folks that put on the annual Riot Fest punk festival.  2009 marks the largest one to date with shows being played in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Congress Theater, Metro, Double Door, Subterranean, Cobra Lounge and a secret location will host shows in Chicago beginning on October 7 and continuing through October 11.  The fun then travels westward to sunny Los Angeles, California where The Palladium, The Wiltern Theater, The Key Club, and The Roxy are the selected venues.  The shows are November 12-14 in L.A.

Screeching Weasel, Cock Sparrer, Dead Milkmen, NOFX, Murder City Devils, Alkaline Trio, Naked Rayguy, Butthole Surfers, Flatfoot 56, Pegboy, Fear City, Lower Class Brats, Street Dogs, No Empathy, and Youth Brigade are just a sampling of the many bands to play.

More information can be found at the Riot Fest Website.  Tickets can be purchased through Ticketweb.
